WITH EYES CLOSED

June 2011 / November 2011 from the reception center of Lampedusa(Sicily) these young Tunisians and Somali are hosted by Caritas of Citta di Castello, Pg, Italy.
I meet with them and ask each side what is the strongest desire at that time.

I think it is a nice welcome,
beyond the gray and impersonal bureaucracy,
gathering my thoughts simple but personal
and especially desires that lodge in people who live in the condition of refugees.
I am in front of unknown and yet we belong to each other
and I perceive their mysteries,
their requests their trepidations.
Above all the strength of their hopes.
